Editing

Once filming was completed, we uploaded the footage to iMovie. We had a basic structure of what we wanted from our storyboards, but once on the software we could experiment with cuts, speed and transitions. We found fade to blacks, and blurring most effective in our clip, as they gave almost a blinking effect, suggesting a sense of someone watching the walking man, without much use of a point of view shot. Furthering this, we chose to blur some of these shots slightly, especially in the movement, as to give the impression of a deranged mind.
We toyed with the use of dark lighting, by using shadows and the sky as areas in which credits can emerge, almost as part of the world. We found difficulty in this, as titles are restricted on the software, but we did what we could. We included titles of main actors and cast members (e.g. Director, Producer.) More names, such as casting director, editors and music score that are normally included in opening credits, would be included as the film continued, but due to time restrictions, these there not included.
Once we had settled on the video, we set about creating an accompanying soundtrack.

Filming

We gathered the cast on a field nearby to our houses for convenience and because we knew it would be dark but there would still be enough light for the shots. We then assigned each person a character and role to play. It was imperative to get everything done in one night so that costume would be the same and so that realism would be created.
Moreover the amount of trees at the location would provide suitable places for one person to be hiding behind whilst watching somebody.
There is a shot of the victim walking being watched in which his movement is slightly blurred which was used to show the killer's confusion and to signify that he was not thinking straight.
Moreover we decided that the killer should be masked as this is one of the typical connotations of a horror thriller murderer, for instance 'Jigsaw' in 'Saw'.
There is a shot of the 'Killer' holding the mask before putting it on, but when it came to shooting, the lighting was too low, therefore it was not clear, but we found that when putting the mask on this was effective and the shot worked really well as the point of view shot.
We realised that we would not be able to have a knife in public therefore we decided to leave the actual killing itself out, which was later replaced by the sound of the killing, in the form of a recording. We did this by filming at a later date a line and a scream only, but during editing we separated visual and sound, and placed the sound over the original shot, which fit particularly well with the soundtrack.
